Elise Reed Scores High Tempo of Strikes To Defend CFFC Belt For Second Time
Hard ground and pound from Elisa Reed earned the CFFC Strawweight Champion a win in the main event, stopping Hilarie Rose in the second round of battle. The fight headlined CFFC 97, which took place on Saturday night at the 2300 Arena in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA.
Reed had held top control over Rose for a large portion of the second round but increased the output of strikes in the final moments of the frame. Keeping a steady pace of elbows and punches, Reed eventually landed enough for the referee to end the fight.
Reed battled adversity earlier in the fight, being threatened by submissions on the ground. Rose was able to pull guard in the opening round, attempting a rare arm triangle choke while on her back. She later looked for an inverted triangle choke on the ground as well.
Reed has now defended her CFFC Strawweight Championship twice and is undefeated through four fights as a pro. She last defended her belt in December, where she scored a decision win against Invicta FC vet Jillian DeCoursey.
Rose was given the title shot after scoring a stoppage win over Alannah Arnett last month. Prior to then, she was a vet of regional promotion CES, and had lost a fight on UFC TV series “Dana White’s Contender Series.”
“I’ve got the belt, someone come and get it,” said Reed in her post-fight interview. Reed’s performance came in front of a crowd that was largely supporting her.

Three Fights Join UFC’s July 24th ‘Fight Night’ Card
UFC’s July 24th “Fight Night” card has received three new bouts recently. The fights join a card that does not have a confirmed location at the moment.
A bantamweight fight on the card is a tale of two stories. While Priscila Cachoeira will fight for her third consecutive win, Sijara Eubanks will be returning in an attempt to stop herself from falling into a three-fight skid. The bout was first reported by Zeca Azevedo and Raphael Marinho of Combate.
Both searching for their first UFC win, Aaron Phillips and Cameron Else will fight in July, per a report from Nolan King of MMA Junkie. Both fighters entered the UFC last year on short notice, stepping in for fighters who pulled from bookings.
Rising heavyweight Chris Daukaus will attempt to score his fourth UFC win, as he will fight Shamil Abdurakhimov, as first reported by Alfredo Zullino of BJPenn.com. Adburakhimov will be making his first appearance since 2019, where he was stopped in a fight by Curtis Blaydes.

Yusaku Nakamura To Face Daichi Kitakata At RIZIN 28, Yoshinari Nadaka To Return Against Chikai
RIZIN’s June 27th card has received two new matchups, including a bout between Strawweight King of Pancrease Daichi Kitakata and Yusaku Nakamura. The fight, which was announced on Saturday, is set to happen at the Maruzen Intec Arena Osaka in Osaka, Japan.
Both fighters will be returning after losing in their last RIZIN showing.
Nakamura’s last appearance saw him get stopped within a round in August by Tatsuki Saomoto. The fight pushed Nakamura’s promotional RIZIN record in MMA to one win and three losses.
Kitakata made his RIZIN debut in November, losing on scorecards to Tatsuki Saomoto. His prior fight, a bout that took place a year prior to then, saw him lose to Yosuke Saruta on a ONE Championship card.
Kitakata has been Pancrase’s 115-pound champ since 2019, where he dethroned inaugural champ Mitsuhisa Sunabe.
Young Muay Thai and kickboxing fighter Yoshinari Nadaka will have the chance to showcase his skills in the RIZIN ring for the third time when fighting Chikai on the card.
Nadaka has had two dominant performances on the RIZIN stage, stopping Yuushin and Phetmalai Phetjaroenvit at events last year. He has stayed active outside of RIZIN as well, fighting twice in BOM in that time. Nadaka last competed last month, stopping Ibuki Bravely in a Muay Thai bout.
Chikai enters RIZIN with experience in the regional Muay Thai scene in Japan. The 20-year-old has frequently competed in NJKF, BOM and DUEL, among other promotions.
