Former UFC Fighter Spike Carlyle Secures First Round Submission In Return To LFA
Former UFC fighter Spike Carlyle won in his return to LFA on Friday, submitting former title challenger Batsumberel Dagvadorj in the first round with a rear naked choke. The fight headlined LFA 103, which took place at the Grand Casino Hotel & Resort in Shawnee, Oklahoma, USA.
Carlyle was able to score a takedown halfway through the round. He mounted the back of Dagvadorj as he got to the feet, although he brought the battle back to the ground by attempting a rear naked choke which eventually forced Dagvadorj to tap out.
Carlyle was having his first appearance after wrapping up a three-fight run in the UFC last year. While the stint in 2020 started strong with a finish win against Aalon Cruz, he was later cut by the promotion after losing fights to Billy Quarantillo and Bill Algeo.
Carlyle was making the move up to lightweight after previously competing at featherweight. On the flipside, Dagvadorj was moving down from welterweight. Dagvadorj was returning after losing a close five-round LFA Welterweight Championship fight against Maycon Mendonca in December.

Looking to bounce back from his first pro loss, Dusko Todorovic will fight Maki Pitolo in a middleweight bout, as reported by Guilherme Cruz and Damon Martin of MMA Fighting. Todorovic took his loss in January, getting stopped by Punahele Soriano. Pitolo will attempt to avoid taking his fourth consecutive loss.
